Poetry Readings: Revised
This is a revision of “Poetry Readings” from April 21st, 2008.
One year.
Rescue Archaeology turns one year old this week (Tuesday, to be exact).
A lot has changed in the last year, but the biggest change for me has been artistic. I could have launched this site much earlier, but I wanted to wait until my art was ready. Looking back at the first few months, I don’t know what I saw in my own artwork. I could spend hours listing the flaws that I see in it, but it all boils down to “Who drew that? And why is it on my site?” If nothing else, my archive is evidence that putting up three comics a week will make you a much better cartoonist.
I can only hope that when I look back on today’s comic in April 2010, I’ll feel the same way about it.
So, with that in mind, I want to spend this week revisiting the comics that I started with. I have no plans to go replace these strips with their revisions, but I’m also curious about how the Talcott of April 2009 would approach these same ideas.
Finally, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone reading this now, and everyone who has ever taken a moment to check out my comics. I could never have kept this going without your readership, support, and feedback.

Wow. The writing on this strip is much more poetic than the original.

If you are taking requests for redraws, might I recommend the fourth of July series. Not because it is done poorly but because it has been my favorite story so far. I think it is the most you. At least I think it is the most you of the you that I know. Congratulations on a year in comics. You should feel proud.

Adam: Thank you too! Right now, the plan is to just redraw the first week’s worth of comics, but if I do more later, the Fireworks series is definitely on the list.
