I finally figured out how to draw cats! I’ve never been happy with the way they’ve turned out in my comics, but the other day I realized that my biggest problem was in their eyes. I always draw humans with dot eyes (which, lately, have almost become Little Orphan Annie eyes), but cats with relatively realistic eyes. I don’t know why it never occurred to me that cartoon cats could also have cartoon eyes.

Also, I wonder how many Ninja Turtles I’ve managed to draw for this comic over the years. I can think of five just off the top of my head.

That one moment feels much older than the rest of my college experience. In general, it amazes me that it’s already been eleven years since I started college. However, it also amazes me that it’s only been eleven years since I first lived on my own.

Yes, I was thinking of Trogdor as I drew this.

We’ve been in the 70s for the past couple of days, and I’ve decided to declare it fall, regardless of what the calendar or Earth’s orbit have to say about it.

Don’t worry if you don’t know what I’m talking about up there. I wrote that post (granted, it was fifteen years ago), and it took me some research to figure out what exactly I was saying.

It definitely looks like color is here to stay, at least until I change my style again. It takes a lot longer, but I like the way these last few have looked. I’m not sure why, but picking colors has felt easier this time around than it did last time.
