This was one of my first adult books too. I remember going to my friend Brian's house for a sleepover and he's reading the same book and we end up reading the entire time. It was the first time I found out I was a slow reader.

Also how would one get a ball when they pay for it. You turn the knob or push the button and it sends a ball flying. Who's to say it ever comes out the slot.

Even one at a time would be a problem though, because each time one ball hit the other it would bounce more and more. Although, I wonder if those egg shell things would be strong enough to contain a small ball of flubber.

We may be on to something here. One of us just needs to find a way to invent flubber.

A flubber vending machine would be very cool, though I would never want to be the guy that refills it. He would have to place each one in individually, If he tried to dump them in they would never stay in the machine.

That's one of the things that I never expected, although I should have expected, about being in my late 20s. For a good 20-25 years, everyone I knew who was born around the same time as me was in a similar place in life.

Now, suddenly, it's as if your birth year doesn't determine your entire station in life ;-)

I learned a couple weeks ago that my supervisor, who has two young kids, is a year and a half younger than me. So, we're kind of peers, but not really.
