It’s weird to think about the relatively bulky discman that I used to carry around to listen to a single CD. It’s not even ten years later and I have an MP3 player (itself a couple of years old) that holds about 100x that and fits in my pocket.

Even without the flying cars, sometimes it does feel like we really are in the future. The fact that The Year 2000 is almost a decade in the past certainly adds to that feeling.
